Amparo Tubilan, RVM and Mrs. magnoliopsid genus Neruda. St. Mary’s Academy of Caloocan began its operation on June vi, 1950 upon the request of the late bishop of Manila, Gabriel Ma. Neruda to function an academic establishment for the youth of Caloocan. The contract was signed by S. Ma. Leonor Katigbak, RVM the representative of the RVM Congregation and Rev. Fr. Emilio Buldoc, OMI the Parish Priest of Our woman of Grace Parish. With fifty seven pupils from Kinder to Grade II, the varsity control its categories on the bottom floor of a building owned by the Philippine belongings Company at eighth Avenue.

At the onset, boys were admitted from preschool to Grade IV; but once Notre Dame of Manila, a Catholic schoolfor boys was opened near , the varsity determined to prevent the admission of boys.
In 1969, the highschool department transferred to the new building at Madre Ignacia Avenue going the primary school Department. Another wing was superimposed to the recently created building giving provision for associate Audio-Visual space, lab, area and extra lecture rooms. In 1972, upon its completion, the offices of the Registrar and Cashier were conjointly moved in.
In 1975, the varsity celebrated the Silve r anniversary of its foundation. to deal with the Community of Sisters at twelfth Avenue, a 2 story convent was created and was completed in 1976. With the registration still increasing, another 5 story building was created for the primary school Department. Upon its completion, the primary schooltransferred to twelfth Avenue in 1981 going the building at eleventh Avenue to the OMI monks.
In response to the challenge to supply quality education, the varsity determined to endure PAASCU enfranchisement. throughout the varsity year 1981-1982, the varsity underwent associate institutional self-survey of each departments in preparation for a Preliminary Visit by the Philippine Accrediting Association of faculties, faculties associated Universities (PAASCU) in 1983 and also the Formal Visit in 1985 wherever an initial three-year enfranchisement was granted. A full five-year enfranchisement was granted in 1988 giving the varsity a stamp of quality education that it provides within the light-weight of its vision and mission.
During the SY 1987-1988, the preschool building, the chapel and a four story administration building were created. it had been within the same year that the move of the Congregation for lay authorisation among department heads opened venues for a full of life participation of lay leaders within the establishment.
Another five-year PAASCU enfranchisement was granted to each departments of the varsity in 1994. From the varsity year 1996-1997 to 2002-2003, S. Ma. Felicitacion A. When the BEC 2002 was launched by DepEd, SMACC at the start ventured its implementation at the same timewith the general public colleges. it had been chosen mutually of NCR’s 2 personal pilot colleges implementing the education course of study 2002 throughout the varsity year 2002 – 2003. With this, another five-year Certificate of enfranchisement was awarded to each departments on Dec nine, 2005.
In School Year 2006-2007, another milestone was introduced through its course of study Program within thehighschool. SMACC is that the solely faculty in Caloocan town that caters to out of faculty youths with special wants.
In 2007, S. Ma. Andrea L. Yee, RVM was appointed the varsity Directress of St. Mary’s Academy. the subsequentyear, SMACC had S. Ma. Teresita S. Catacutan, RVM because the head.
School year 2009 – 2010 marked the sixtieth instauration day of remembrance of the varsity. S. Ma. Andrea L. Yee, RVM, served because the Directress/ Principal, and beneath her leadership, the varsity gained a recertification of ISO 9001:2008.
In School year 2010-2011, SMACC continues to soar higher for excellence. It underwent another PAASCU re-accreditation. With the conjunct efforts and diligence of the establishment, another five-year Certificate of Accreditation-Level II was awarded to the varsity.
From academic year 2011-2012 to 2013-2014, S. Ma. Paula G. Adaoag, RVM was appointed the varsityDirectress of SMACC. In her second year as faculty directress, the varsity has another time launched into the implementation of another academic reform set by the Department of Education, the improved Basic Education Act of 2013 or the K to twelve program. One with the state in orienting our instructional system with worldstandards, SMACC extended its K to twelve providing within the Grade one and Grade seven levels severally.
For school year 2014-2015, another time LED by S. Ma. Andrea L. Yee, RVM as Directress, the varsity went on its third year of implementation of the K to twelve program, for Grades one, 2, 3, 7, 8, and nine levels. the subsequentacademic year 2015-2016, S. Ma. Marisa C. Rebosura, RVM was appointed because the new Directress and S. Ma. Miraflor A. Bahan, RVM because the Basic Education Principal.
For school year 2016 - 2017, beneath the continued leadership of S. Ma. Marisa C. Rebosura, RVM, the initial roll out of Grade eleven was enforced. In her second year as Directress/Principal, the varsity gained certification of ISO 9001:2015 and was granted Level II PAASCU Re-accreditation within the Basic Education Program for five years valid till might 2022.
Under the new leadership of S. Ma. Evelyn C. Aguilar, RVM as new Directress/Principal, SMACC can begin its new journey with the pilot implementation of the Grade twelve program for college year 2017 - 2018. St. Mary's Academy can incessantly give Quality Ignacian Education to the Filipino youth, and nourish students in their intellectual and religious growth with the values of religion, Excellence and repair.
